ScoreCEO offers Email configurations with SMTP. SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, this is an internet standard communication protocol for electronic mail transmission. Mail servers and other message transfer agents use SMTP to send and receive mail messages. ScoreCEO has several ways of configuring your email. Mailchimp, Mailgun and SMTP. Learn today how set up your email configuration with SMTP. 


ScoreCEO Email Configurations ScoreCEO allows to use either Mandrill or SMTP to send out emails from its portals. You can use either Mandrill or SMTP for this purpose. Following are the details for setting them up:

1. Go to Configurations>Email Configurations

Or you can go to Email Configurations from Quick Wizard if still available.

2. Click on the Edit Button located on the top right of the page to update Email

Configurations.

3. Select your desired email method from the list by clicking on the Email Method.

4. Click on the Save button at the bottom right of the page to save and use the selected

method.

Note: Please note that in order to use the select method, you must have provided valid credentials on the same page or else emails will not go out.

Details for how to find and enter information for each Email Method is described below. ScoreCEO allows how to test these email method once the information is entered and saved and this is described in the last part of this document.

1. SMTP: SMTP which is short for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, is a protocol for sending e-mail messages between servers. Following are the instructions for how to configure it in your portal for ScoreCEO:

1. Go to Configurations>Email Configurations. Or you can go to Email Configurations from Quick Wizard.

2. Click on the Edit Button located on the top right of the page to update Email

Configurations.

3. Go to SMTP Information section and fill in the fields.

a. SMTP Server: This is the server which will be used for outgoing emails

i. Example: smtp.mandrillapp.com

b. SMTP Port: This is the port on the server which will be used.

i. Example: 587

c. SMTP User Name: You need provide you email/user name on the server.

i. Example: scoreceo3@gmail.com

d. SMTP Password: Provide password for the email/username.

i. Example: **************

e. Enable SSL: Enable SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to establish an encrypted link

with the server.

i. Check this option to enable SSL encryption.

4. Click on the Save button at the bottom right of the page to save and use the selected

method.

Note: Please note that in order to use SMTP, you must have selected SMTP as Email Method.

1.1. Some SMTP Servers Following are some common SMTP servers which can be used in ScoreCEO:

Yahoo

• SMTP Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

• SMTP port: 465 or 587

• SMTP User Name: your Yahoo! Mail account

• SMTP password: your Yahoo! Mail password

• Requires SSL – Yes

Office 365/Outlook

• SMTP Server: smtp.office365.com

• SMTP port: 587

• SMTP User Name: your Office365 account

• SMTP password: your Office365 password

• Requires SSL – Yes

Gmail

• SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

• SMTP port: 465 or 587

• SMTP User Name: Your full Gmail or Google Apps email address

• SMTP password: Your Gmail or Google Apps password (or application-specific password for accounts with 2-Step Verification enabled)

• Requires SSL – Yes

Note: You may need to turn off access for Less Secure Apps in order to use Gmail SMTP in ScoreCEO. https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps .This setting is not available for accounts with 2-Step Verification enabled. Such accounts require an application- specific password for less secure apps access. https://security.google.com/settings/security/ apppasswords

 Test Email Settings To test email settings for your selected method in the portal, ScoreCEO allows to verify this by sending out a test email. Please follow instructions below to test your email settings:

1. Go to Configurations>Email Configurations and click on Test Email Settings button.

2. This will open a pop-up where you can compose an email to test selected email method.

Enter following information:

• Recipient Name: Type in the name of the email recipient

• To: Type the email address of the recipient like someone@gmail.com

• Message: Type any content

3. Click on the Send Email button to send this email.

4. You will get the confirmation if email was successfully sent and recipient will receive it as well which will verify that email settings for selected email method are correct.
